Dublin prepares for The Visit…

Dublin is preparing for the visits of Queen Elizabeth, President Obama, and Prime Minister David Cameron from the period of 17-24 May.

If you plan to travel in and out of the city centre, please be aware of road closures and parking restrictions. Also, certain public transportation routes may be affected.

Some of our local businesses will be affected by road closures, which in turn may affect their deliveries… if you are in town during this period pop in to your favourite local business and say hello.

Royal weddings, queen’s visits…. purely by coincidence, Mary Coleman, President of the Guild of Irish Lacemakers, will be giving a talk about the Irish lace that royalty love. The talk is this Tuesday, May 17 at 6:30 at the Pembroke Library. The library is on Angelsea Road, next to the RDS. It is free but they are asking people to book in advance so they know how many to expect. You can book at 01 668 9575 or pembrokelibrary@dublincity.ie

Don’t forget, This is Knit will hold a special knit night to this coming 19th May to welcome Laura Chau to Dublin. Also, on Saturday 21 May from 2pm The Constant Knitter will be holding her monthly Yarn Party.

We hope to see you there…
