Vintaged

I’ve been decluttering and re-organising Knitting HQ.

I came across the very first pattern booklet I purchased sometime in the late 80’a when I learned how to knit a sweater.

These sweaters were an easy quick knit. I was able to knit one of these over a weekend.

Frog or Finish…

I frequently get a bout of startitis, and end up with a basket full of wips.

As I enthusiastically competed in Ravelry’s knitting Olympics, I managed to complete there FOs.

Now, bring on September, also considered a new year for any of society’s folks whose schedules are dictatated by the school year.

I have committed myself to finish off my wips…it’s simply a task of frogging or finishing.

This cobalt blue wip is going to be frogged, since I have no clue as to where I am in the pattern. If I recall, my stitch count was way off when it went into the basket.

This scarf is on the finish list since I love the yarn and it’s colourway.

I knit this cardigan a few years again and hate the fit, so it’s been frogged, and will become known as the FibreFeis2012 sweater.

We are so excited!  HandmAid Craft Day is back on Saturday 22 September 2012.

I hear the organisers are busy collecting crafty donations from all over Ireland and the list of craft workshops is almost finalised.

The Dublin sewing group is hosting a Bunting for HandmAid evening Friday 24 August at The Constant Knitter, 88 Francis Street.

HandmAid Craft Day was a huge success last year.  The organisers are hoping for a repeat performance.

Save the date:  Saturday 22nd September!

The Dublin Knit Collective is FIVE!

image

The Dublin Knit Collective entered the blogsphere on this day in 2007, where I posted, ” Welcome to the Dublin Knit Collective…a place to brew knitwit ideas…”

image

I can’t believe it’s been five years of blathering and blogging about knitting in Dublin. As a knitting enthusiast, I have seen how knitting in Dublin has evolved from hobby to socially knitworking.

image

Dublin knitters and crocheters have taken stitching out of the home and proudly shares this eclectic lifestyle into Dublin town. Our knitting community is everywhere… the LYSs (local yarn shops), SnBs (Stitch n Bitch), and social media ( bloggers, Ravelry, Twitter, and Facebook).

Here’s to my knitterly friends, Thank you for five years of proudly knitting in Dublin : )
