Dressing Up….

A couple of months ago, one of my knit mates, Lyndsay mentioned she wanted to make a dressform made from duct tape.

This bright idea transpired to a DIY DressForm workshop for our knitterly friends.

Lyndsay did the research and we referenced two blogposts from Offbeat Bride and The Maria Antoinette as the basis of the DIY DressForm workshop.

So last month, on a lovely Sunday afternoon eight knitters gathered in The Constant Knitter’s studio armed with rolls and rolls of duct tape.

We paired up and started taping…

Once we had 3 layers of duct tape, cut ourselves out…

The next step was to stuff the dressform…

So here’s Madeleine the Mannequin, not quite finished as I’m looking for a proper stand for her….

Here she is…all dressed : )

Dublin Moss

image

Baby knitwear is a great way to use up some of my yarn stash.

I used less than one ball of Jaegar DK and a mini skein of my handspun.

The mossy tones of the handspun made an earthy contrast to the brown hue of Jaegar.
